Economics majors have a wide variety of opportunities to engage in student research and participation in economic events.
- Economics faculty actively support student research and welcome students to assist with their professional research as well.
- Students regularly present their research projects at EWU’s Annual Student Research and Creative Works Symposium on campus in the spring.
- The Economics Department typically sponsors several students to attend the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) held annually at various universities across the country.
Clubs & Organizations
EWU Economics Society
The student club hosts a variety of events including guest speakers, career workshops, movies, and other social events.
In the past, students have participated in a regional conference such as the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference (PNREC), where they have competed against other regional university student teams in the Federal Reserve Simulation hosted by the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank.
Omicron Delta Epsilon
High achieving students who maintain a GPA above 3.0 in their economics courses are eligible for induction into Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE), the International Honor Society in Economics.
