Native American Collaboration at EWU
Praire Restoration Project
Developed in cooperation with representatives from area Native communities, this transformative project will restore 120 acres of farmland back to its native ‘Palouse’ prairie habitat, increasing biodiversity and providing endless STEM educational exploration.
Lucy Covington Initiative
EWU plans to honor Lucy Covington, a long-time tribal rights activist who helped change the course of American Indian history through her leadership in the face of great odds. The Prairie Restoration project is also home to the Lucy Covington Initiative.
Native American Affairs
Native American Affairs has been established at EWU to provide leadership, guidance, and support for Native American initiatives, organizations, and programs that align with the Native American Advisory Council (NAAC) and Eastern’s strategic plan.
