Pathways at EWU
Pathways is an exclusive opportunity for students who wish to attend Eastern Washington University.
You’ll be invited to join Pathways based on your EWU application. From the pool of applicants, we look for students who show promise and are motivated to take part in a program structured for their success. Students who are part of the Pathways program will be connected with their advisor along with PLUS support services who work together to help you be successful in their academics at EWU. We look forward to working with you!

Academic Advising with CAAR
CAAR stands for the Center for Academic Advising & Retention. Your CAAR advisor helps you plan classes, adjust to university life, and find support on your academic journey. You should meet with your advisor at least once per term, usually before you register for classes. Your CAAR advisor will also teach you how to use academic tools and systems.
During your first year in the Pathways program, your CAAR advisors makes sure you take advantage of priority access to developmental math and English classes, and they help you develop a plan to keep you on track towards graduation.

The Pathways Community Experience
In Pathways, you’ll join a proud and successful community of scholars. You’ll also have access to the Pathways coordinator, an expert who can help you take advantage of student resources while you navigate EWU. Staying on track in the first year can be challenging for all students, but your student advisor will help guide you with good college strategies and assist you in adapting to college life.
A specific class designed for Pathways students give you the opportunity to explore course expectations and gain the skills you need to successfully complete your degree at EWU.
