About Us
The Women’s and Gender Education (WAGE) Center supports the Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies (GWSS) program’s efforts in offering students the skills to critically and actively engage with the world. In the WAGE Center, you will integrate theory and practice to transform social relations, representations, knowledge, institutions, and policies.
The Center has been part of GWSS at Eastern Washington University since 1977. We engage with students, staff, and faculty across campus through programs, events, and initiatives. We promote gender equity and all forms of diversity through workshops and collaborations with community and university partners.
Our Mission
The Women’s and Gender Education Center at EWU provides an inclusive student-centered space while supporting intersectional feminist scholarship and activism.
We achieve this mission by:
- Supporting students’ holistic development and academic success through co-curricular programs
- Offering opportunities for dialogue and activism around difference, power, and privilege, and
- Creating a collaborative community around feminist scholarship.
Whether you’re interested in activism, intersectionality, sex, gender, sexuality, or leadership development, we have co-curricular programs to meet your needs and inspire you. Members of the public are welcome at all of our events and programs.
