Work with a College Liaison

Our College Liaisons are here to collaborate with faculty to enhance student success through career development. We offer tailored class presentations, workshops, and networking events on career-related topics such as resumes, interviewing, and professional development.

By partnering with us, you can help connect students with valuable resources, including the Eagle Career Network and employer relations support. Together, we can reduce the number of undecided students, provide impactful career education, and connect your students with internship and job opportunities.

Co-Host a Career Event or Workshop

Partner with the Career Center to co-host events that connect students with career opportunities and professional development resources. By working together, we can create tailored workshops, employer panels, networking events, or industry-specific career fairs that align with your department’s focus.

Co-hosting events with the Career Center allows you to bring relevant employers and alumni into the classroom or department, enhancing student engagement and fostering meaningful connections. Mentor Students and Alumni
Share your expertise and experiences by offering resume reviews, career advice, or industry insights.

Promote Events/Internships
Share professional development events & internship opportunities with your class.

Promote Clubs & Orgs
Help students develop experiences for their resume by encouraging them to participate in campus Clubs & Orgs

Respond and Refer
When a student reaches out with questions that are are career focused, introduce them to on of our career advisors, help them sign up for an appointment, or encourage them to connect with us.

Incentive Event Participation
Encourage students participating in professional development events via extra credit or mandatory assignments.

Class Presentations
Invite a Career Advisor to do a 5 min introduction of the Career Center or co-teach for a class session or two – Make it a career day!

Careers in…
Work with your College Career Liaison to develop content for your website and link to the career center resources. We can also help in putting together resources for recruitment purposes that showcase the types of careers potential students can pursue with a specific major.

Incentivize Clubs & Orgs
Find ways to incentivize students participating in Clubs & Orgs.

Classroom Assignments
Work with a Career Advisor and theme a classroom assignment that reflects career development strategies

Career Module
Take Class Presentations to the next level and invite a Career Advisor into the classroom for a series of classes to focus on in-depth career development.

Embed Experiential Learning
You are probably already doing this! Work with your College Career Liaison to highlight/develop experiential learning components in your courses.

Sponsor a Student
Advocate for students in their process of exploring and networking for internships and careers – Connect them with the people you know in your field.

Professional Development Course
Create a professional development course specific to your department/discipline. Invite your College Career Liaison to collaborate and offer feedback.

Engage with Employers

Have you been wanting to connect with a certain employer, but don’t have the time?

Let us do the work for you! If we don’t already have a connection, our team is more than happy to research and start a new employer relationship on your behalf.

As we know, learning how to effectively advertise themselves to employers is one of the biggest challenges faced by our students, especially if they don’t understand how to talk about the value of their education. Inviting guest speakers to your class is one way to overcome this challenge.

We can help you connect with alumni and/or industry professionals willing to talk with your students about their opportunities, their career, their organization, or topics relevant to your class.

If an employer shares a job or internship opportunity with you, we are here to help get that information to students effectively

We encourage employers to post the opportunity on Handshake, our primary platform for student job and internship searches. If they need additional support with promotion through social media or email, they can contact the Career Center’s Employer Relations Team for assistance.

Below is a suggested message template you can use when responding to employers:

Thank you for sharing this opportunity with me! If you haven’t already, please consider posting it on Handshake – —our go-to platform for students seeking opportunities like yours.
