About Thompson Falls:
Thompson Falls is a town of about 1,500 people, located in Sanders County which has a population of 13,000+ people. We may be a small town but we have been growing and expanding the last few years. We have at least 3 boat ramp launches within 10 minutes of town for easy access to the beautiful Clark Fork River for easy kayaking, boating, and fishing. We also offer many miles of hiking opportunities and camping for leisure or hunting. Our area is very peaceful and full of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Thompson Falls offers an elementary school K-6 and a junior high school 7-8. Classroom sizes are smaller and usually average 16 students to each teacher. Our high school averages about 200 students and does offer school sports of wrestling, soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, cross country, and track. The high school also has a successful music program offering choir and band.
There are also a couple of smaller private school options in the Trout Creek area which is about 20 minutes from Thompson Falls.
Our town does have several different options for grocery shopping and various hardware needs as well as several successful restaurant options, a brewery, and a preserved historic theater that shows weekly movies and has concerts and performances from various local and traveling artists. There are many options for socializing clubs/groups through exercise, pickleball, bowling, ELKs, etc.
In Thompson Falls, there are 2 local family practice clinics to serve you. In the town of Plains, a short drive away, there is a full-service hospital, emergency room and a family medicine clinic that serves as an urgent care.
If there is something you can’t find in town, we have 3 major cities within a couple of hours drive that offer more shopping and recreation opportunities such as Glacier National Park. We have several skiing options within a few hours drive such as Switzer Ski Resort, Whitefish Ski Resort, Snowbowl Ski Mountain and Lookout Pass Ski Mountain or Silver Mountain Resort.
It is a part of life here to make trips to the big city, usually Kalispell or Missoula for more specialists or more particular shopping beyond the essentials. Amazon and other online shopping will become a part of your life if it wasn’t already. In this area, shipping isn’t quite as fast as in the big city. Planning and thinking ahead is something you will learn quickly but the slower pace is what a lot of people love about a small town.
Our office in Thompson Falls, has grown and expanded with the times and offers patients oral surgery, sedation services, Invisalign treatment, endo, same day crowns, implants, and denture services. Our hygienists use cavitron units and each have their own Intraoral camera. Our schedule stays busy and we have a higher needs population for the patient base which always keeps your mind active and up to date on new information. We have a fun team that works hard and laughs hard together! If this sounds like the place for you, please reach out!
