• Participants are required to complete assigned online self-study and scheduled online lectures for a total of 12 hours of course time.
  • Online lectures are scheduled for the following dates:
    • June 3, 2025: 5-7pm PST
    • June 4, 2025: 5-7pm PST
    • June 5, 2025: 5-7pm PST
    • June 10, 2025: 5-7pm PST
    • June 11, 2025: 5-7pm PST
    • June 12, 2025: 5-7pm PST
• Participants are required to attend the in person portion of the course which includes the following:
  • 5 days at the EWU Spokane campus for lab learning in our dental hygiene clinic
    • June 14, 2025 – June 18, 2025. Approximately 10 hour days, exact times are TBD
  • 3 days at our local community partner dental clinic for practical application: CHAS Health
    • June 19, 2025 – June 21, 2025
• Participants must be licensed or show evidence of successful completion of the Western Regional Examination Board (WREB) or Central Regional Data Testing Service (CRDTS) Local Anesthesia Examination prior to the restorative course. This will be a course requirement and is to be uploaded by the first day of class.
• Participants receive a certificate of completion when all competencies are successfully passed.
• Content and experiences are designed so participants are ready to sit for the restorative portion of the Western Regional Examination Board (WREB) or Central Regional Data Testing Service (CRDTS).

This is not included in the cost of the course and must be purchased by the participant. Any changes for future courses will be announced with dates for the course.

Tuition includes the course instruction, all instrumentation and supplies for a total of $7,050 due prior to the first day of class on June 3, 2025.

• The dress code for participants is clinical scrubs, or neutral pants such as khakis covering the ankle. Jeans are not permitted at any time.
• Shoes should be close toed — either tennis shoes or clog style (i.e Danskos) with socks to cover ankles.
• Lab coats are furnished by EWU.

• Loupes or strong magnification glasses are strongly recommended for the course.
• Participants must provide their own protective eyewear.

• 12 online clock hours of synchronous lectures are required prior to attending the face-to-face course. A computer and internet access are required.
• The online course begins two weeks prior to the on-site portion of the course.

• Required to attend at the Eastern Washington University Dental Hygiene Clinic on the EWU Spokane campus in Spokane, WA.
• The course occurs over a 22-day period including online self study, online didactic, lab and patient clinic. The course requires in person attendance over a weekend, which is included in the dates in the course overview.
• Our community dental clinic requires the following to treat patients at their location. Applicants will receive an email from the clinic directly to submit all onboarding paperwork once enrollment has been completed.

  • Immunization Records- Our employee health team RN reviews all immunization records and will contact the student if any immunizations need to be updated.

There are two hotels located directly across the street from the EWU Dental Hygiene Clinic and another one within a half mile. Remember to ask any hotel you stay at if they have an “Eastern Washington University” rate as you are here for official university business.

Malpractice insurance is not required by EWU but is recommended, and may be required by our offsite partner for the live patient portion of the course.
