Ms. Megan Lea, a 2018 graduate of our BSDH program represented the students from District XII at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Students Annual Meeting in June 2017. Lea along with dental hygiene classmates participated in the student poster contest at the 2018 Washington Dental Hygienists’ Association (WDHA) symposium where her group was awarded 2nd place. Additionally, Ms. Lea won the WDHA Future Leader award for EWU. Lea was also presented the EWU Everyday Student Leader Award in May 2018. This award exemplifies leadership in her profession and community. Megan is the current advisor for the Student Chapter of ADHA. She accompanied dental hygiene students to the WDHA House of Delegates this Fall where she represented the EWU Dental Hygiene Society. The faculty and staff are proud of Megan’s accomplishments and appreciate her time and energy devoted to helping our students develop their skills as members of our professional organization.
