Last week, MPH student Ali Norris attended and presented at the Northwest Rural Health Conference in Seattle, Washington. Her presentation discussed data that she analyzed regarding a Diabetes Management Program in Stevens County.
It was her first time presenting at a conference, and she describes it as “an amazing experience.” She met with healthcare professionals from across the state who all expressed a mutual passion for rural health.
The conference focused on the impact of possible changes or repealing of The Affordable Care Act. Changes to the healthcare system will drastically impact rural health clinics, their funding and their patients.
Ali highly recommends this conference for students to attend in the future!
