  • Finalists are to be selected by the University Scholarship Committee. Vega Cloud will select the winning student recipient of the scholarship. If the winning recipient is not selected by July 31st then the Scholarship Office will make the determination.

Accounting Scholarships

Requirements & Guidelines:

  • Awarded to a full-time or part-time student enrolled in at least two accounting classes or eight credits within the School of Professional Accounting, with a declared major in professional accounting who is pursuing, or plans to pursue, a master’s of professional accounting.
  • Active involvement in on-campus or off-campus activities that benefit the community;
  • Active participation in student organizations related to the accounting profession, such as Beta Alpha Psi;
  • Being a mentor or tutor of their peers;
  • Demonstrated financial need; or
  • Employed part-time for a minimum of 20 hours per week while pursuing their degree

External Accounting Scholarships

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) Foundation Scholarship for Future CPAs is part of the AICPA Legacy Scholarships. Students interested in being considered for more than one AICPA Legacy Scholarship need to complete only one application — applicants will be evaluated for all awards for which they are eligible in the program.

The application opens December 1st, 2023 and closes March 1st, 2024

The CMA Scholarship is available each academic year for up to 10 students. It covers up to three years of IMA membership, the CMA program entrance fee, and two exam sitting fees—all a value of about $1,000! Also, recipients of the scholarship will receive access to Wiley’s CMA exam question bank to assist with their CMA exam preparation. Students must be nominated by faculty to be considered for this award.

The Clark Nuber scholarship program is now accepting applications for nonrenewable tuition scholarships. Accounting students who will have completed their sophomore year at an accredited four‐year institution in or near Washington State are eligible to apply. All applicants must be eligible to work without sponsorship after graduation. Preference will be given to residents of Washington State. Scholarship recipients will automatically receive an on‐campus interview provided they submit a complete application packet prior to the on‐campus interview deadline.

Scholarship Requirements

Students in an undergraduate program who are interested in working in the banking industry after graduation may apply for an RMA Foundation scholarship. The RMA Foundation offers scholarships to students in an undergraduate program who are interested in working in the banking industry after graduation.

Scholarship Requirements

The Washington CPA Foundation awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to accounting students attending an accredited college or university in the state of Washington for the 2020-2021 school year.

Dean’s Leadership Endowed Scholarship

The Dean’s Leadership Endowed Scholarship is administered subject to the stipulations listed below:

  • The successful recipient will be able to demonstrate academic achievement, academic or community leadership, personal integrity, as well as community service
  • Eligible students must have a declared major in one of the disciplines offered by the School of Business and have completed at least 120 credit hours including 30 credits in their declared major by the end of spring quarter 2025. If you have questions about these requirements, please see your advisor.
  • The recipient must be a student in good standing at Eastern Washington University maintaining a minimum 3.0 (B) grade point average (GPA), attend EWU full time during the academic year 2024-2025, and not been found responsible in an academic integrity violation.
  • The School of Business will award one or more $3,500 scholarship(s) for undergraduate tuition. Recipient must attend EWU full time for academic year 2025-2026.
  • The successful recipient must be willing to serve as the President of the Business School’s Student Advisory Board for academic year 2025-2026.
  • The successful recipient will be selected following the review of the one-page essay describing your history of academic achievement, academic or community leadership, and community service. Recipient(s) of the scholarship will be eligible for mentorship from a member of the College’s Advisory Board. The recipient(s) will be encouraged to attend College Advisory Board meetings.
