About Us

The EWU Department of History, Anthropology, Modern Languages & Literatures gives students a transdisciplinary introduction to people and languages. Each of our programs is designed to introduce cultures and histories from all around the world. We host international students from Asia University, providing Japanese and U.S. students opportunities for dialogue and experiential learning.

Programs we offer include:

  • History and Public History
  • Social Studies Education
  • Anthropology
  • Spanish, French, German and Japanese languages
  • Bilingual Education

Graduates from our programs go on to become interpreters, translators, media producers, archivists, community activists, policy analysts and teachers.
