Minor in Mathematics/Secondary

About

Completion of this minor, the General Degree Completion Requirements for Education, Secondary, and a major field of study satisfies the state requirements for a secondary level mathematics teaching endorsement (grade levels 5-12).

This minor can be completed for an add-on Secondary Level Mathematics Endorsement. The completion of MATH 208 or MATH 141 satisfies the university Mathematical Reasoning competency/proficiency requirement.

Notes:

  • All candidates for certification must pass the NES subject matter test to receive an endorsement for certification purposes.

Secondary Mathematics Minor

Prerequisite Grade Policy: students must have earned a grade ≥C or better in any course that is to be used to satisfy a prerequisite requirement for a subsequent mathematics course offered by the Eastern Washington University Department of Mathematics.

Grade Requirements: students must receive a grade ≥C in each course used to satisfy the requirements of an undergraduate major or minor in mathematics.
