About

Jennifer A. Griffith is a Art + Education Professor and social justice artist in Spokane, Wa. She promotes the efficacy of art to build communities with cultural and social awareness. Locally and nationally, she focuses on community art and critical multiculturalism, encourages arts collaboration through social engagement, and advocates culturally responsive/sustaining pedagogy. Her research and teaching expertise include 2D/3D/AP visual arts and French language at all levels, K-Higher Education, in the United States and France. Jennifer has been awarded national accreditation for her publications in the arts publication, Splatter, cookbook, A Montana Table and her Children’s book “Prince Ollie and the Moonchildren”. She is the recipient of distinguished art grants and scholarships such as National Geographic Explorer Educator and National Art Education foundation research grants for global and educational leadership. Her professional service includes current Co-President of the Washington Art Education Association, Director of Art Education for Heartworks, NEWESD101 Vice President Rep., several special interest groups for NAEA and founder of non-profit animal rescue organization Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana. Jennifer owned a French restaurant featured on the Food Channel and voted best restaurant in Montana by Travel and Leisure magazine. Jennifer received her M.A. Art Ed. from Boston University; B.F.A.in photography from University of Montana; B.A.in wildlife biology from University of Maine.
