The iconic Squirrels of EWU – memorialized in stuffies and stickers – are “nuts” about our National Squirrel Appreciation Day fundraiser to improve food security for EWU students.

The Jan. 21 effort is a lighthearted way to ask amazing friends like you to pitch in a few “acorns” to help our students thrive and succeed.

Admittedly, EWU’s food pantry fundraiser is “squirrely.” But it all makes sense.

Like our iconic campus squirrel population, which goes into hyperdrive gathering nuts to get through the winter, EWU students are working their tails off to cover education and living expenses.

Smiling students holding food
About 44% of EWU’s students struggle to afford enough food as grocery prices have skyrocketed – and they work toward a degree and better life. With your help, a college degree is just a few acorns away!

EWU’s iconic squirrels bring joy year-round and helped us spread holiday cheer with a “nutty” case in the President’s holiday video. Your donations carry that spirit forward, ensuring EWU students have the resources they need to thrive.

Together, we’re making a difference—one acorn at a time.
