Our marketing team is dedicated to enhancing Eastern Washington University’s storytelling through compelling visual content.

To ensure efficient use of our resources, we have established the following guidelines and expectations for requesting our free photography and videography services.

Event Photography Headshots Videography

Event Photography

  • Major campus events that align with EWU’s marketing goals
  • Events that feature students, faculty, or staff actively engaged in learning, research, or community-building activities that will be used for a story
  • Highlights of key moments rather than full event coverage (speaker at a podium, student presenting, etc)
  • Commencement in Spokane or Cheney

  • Archival photography (personal or departmental documentation)
  • Full event coverage from start to finish
  • College or affinity group graduation celebrations

  • Our photographers will be on-site for up to 1 hour, focusing on moments that best represent the event’s impact or purpose.
  • Requests must be submitted at least 30 days before the event using the multimedia request form.
  • Once your request is reviewed, you will receive a debrief outlining what to expect in terms of coverage and delivery.
  • Feel free to provide a wish list of shots you would like.
  • After the event concludes, our team will select the finest shots and enhance the lighting for a professional finish.

Our event photography is all about boosting EWU’s marketing and storytelling. We’re here to capture events that highlight the university’s mission, student life, or community impact.

Because of our limited staff, our services are not for personal or departmental archives.

Media Release

Headshots

We offer free, professional headshots for faculty and staff once a month. This service is available by appointment only.

  • Location: Isle Hall, 102
  • When: First Friday of every month
  • How to Sign Up: let us know you’re coming using the form
  • What to wear: choose solid, neutral-colored clothing with minimal patterns, avoid white tops unless paired with a jacket, and stick to professional attire that reflects your position.

Turnaround Time:
Headshots will be delivered within two weeks, depending on editing priorities.

Videography

  • Videos that highlight student learning, academic projects, and community impact that are tied to a marketing budget.
  • Videos supporting major university campaigns or recruitment efforts for enrollment services, fundraising and priority programs.
  • Content for university-wide marketing channels (web, social media, advertising).

  • Videos for personal or departmental archival purposes.
  • Full event documentation for archiving.
  • Faculty or individual research projects unless they are directly tied to a marketing campaign.

  • Requests for videography should be submitted via the Video Request Form at least 45 days before your project.
  • All requests will be evaluated based on alignment with university marketing priorities.
  • Our video team will not cover all events but will focus on key moments for marketing purposes.
  • Each participant will be expected to sign a media release form that allows the EWU to use the footage.
  • Each project will need an responsive point person to coordinate all the department logistics for the day of the shoot.

Our videography services are dedicated to creating content that supports university-wide marketing initiatives. All videos are student-centric and focused on highlighting EWU’s academic programs, student success stories, and community involvement.

Due to the extensive hours spent on shooting and editing, we focus on videos that will be supported by an advertising budget or have a clear marketing strategy.
