In Memoriam: Allen Guzman

The university is saddened to report the loss of Allen Guzman. Guzman, who worked for Instructional Technology & Web Services in Huston Hall, was hired in May of 2023 and died in February of 2025. We extend our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at EWU.

In Memoriam: Martha Brzoska

Eastern Washington University has been notified of the death of retiree Martha (Marti) Brzoska on Feb. 27. She came to EWU in 1985 as a faculty member in the Art department and transitioned to an administrative position in 1988 as an academic advisor in General Undergraduate Advising. Brzoska retired from Eastern July 1, 2010.  She

Eastern Washington University is saddened to report that Gregory “Greg” Hawkins passed away on Feb. 11, 2023. Hawkins joined the faculty at Eastern in 1973, where he served in the Department of Art. He went on to serve as the Dean of the College of Fine Arts before retiring in 2003. The Washington Art Education
