The university is saddened to report the loss of Allen Guzman. Guzman, who worked for Instructional Technology & Web Services in Huston Hall, was hired in May of 2023 and died in February of 2025. We extend our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at EWU.

Donley, who passed away recently, made a positive impact for students as a faculty member, department chair, and retiree.

EWU is saddened to report the passing of Elizabeth Cook-Lynn, emeritus professor and author, who passed away July 5, 2023. Cook-Lynn retired from EWU after 19 years of service in the Department of English. Cook-Lynn, a member of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, also taught Native American Studies.

Eastern Washington University is saddened to report that retiree Barbara Tish has passed away. Tish retired in 2011 after 19 years of service working in the  library. Our condolences go out to her friends and family. Tish’s obituary is available online at Spokesman.com.

Eastern Washington University is saddened to report that Patricia (Trish) Hahn, professor emeritus in communication disorders, passed away on Nov. 26, 2023. Professor Hahn came to EWU in 1968 and retired in 1994 after 26 years of service to the university. Our condolences go out to Patricia’s family and friends.
