Nearly 2,000 active EWU plates are on the road in Washington today! $28 from each Eagle plate supports the Alumni Legacy Scholarships at EWU, the Eagle plates alone have raised over $50,000 in scholarship support for EWU students in the last year.

Receive a tax deduction!

Report your license plate to the EWU Foundation and receive a tax-deductible receipt. To receive a gift receipt from EWU for your plate donation, fill out the tax deduction form. You will need information from your vehicle registration certificate to complete the form.

How to Buy

Here are two simple ways you can order your very own EWU license plate:

  1. Visit Your Local Department of Licensing Office: Finding your nearest office is a breeze! Just click here to locate the one closest to you. Once there, ask for the EWU plates.
  2. Online Application: Prefer to handle things digitally? No problem! Head over to the Department of Licensing website and download the application form. Once completed, you have the option to fax, mail or hand it in directly.

Remember, if you’re looking to add a personal touch, personalized EWU plates are also an option on the order form.

And hey, if you’re in the process of buying a new or used car, don’t forget to let your dealer know you’re interested in an EWU license plate!

FAQs

Individuals who currently have an older version of the EWU special or EWU personalized plates can get their same number/message on the newer plates through the DOL. You must visit your local DOL office to replace your current EWU plate with the red and black plate. The DOL will charge a replacement fee to retain your current message or number. Contact your local DOL office for exact costs and fees.

No.  Anybody and everybody can purchase Eagle plates. If you like to support scholarships and show your Eagle Pride, then owning a EWU plate is the way to go.

No.  You can purchase an Eagle plate at any point during the year. Like right now!  Click on the link above to download an application or visit your local DOL office.

When you decide you want to show your Eagle pride with a EWU license plate, all you need to do is complete the application and mail, fax, or take it into a DOL office.  It’s that easy.  Once you have a Eagle plate you simply follow the standard renewal process.

$28 of your special plate fee goes directly to the Alumni Legacy Scholarship fund to provide scholarships for deserving students at Eastern Washington University.

Yes!  These plates may be transferred to your new car or similar.  The state simply requires that the registered owner of the new car and plates remains the same.
