Eastern Washington University is saddened to report the passing of former Board of Trustee (BOT) member Michael Finley, who served nearly eight years on the board.

John Cogley, an EWU retiree who was a professor in therapeutic recreation while helping countless students earn their degrees and pursue their careers, died on Dec. 31, 2022. He was 77.

Since World War I, the university has lost approximately 50 students and alumni who died while serving our country.
