EWU Wins Bloomsday Corporate Cup for 25th Year in a Row

Another Bloomsday is in the books, the scores have been posted and it’s another win for Eastern Washington University’s Red team, which once again finished first in the Corporate Cup while racking up a perfect 3,000 points.

This is the 25th straight year EWU Red has won the Corporate Cup, which is considered the race within the big race, where runners representing different businesses compete for the most points based on their times and age group.

EWU Red has featured a variety of prolific runners over the years, as chronicled in this 2022 Spokesman-Review story. The team has overcome injuries, aging and a break for those “virtual” races in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic. According to official race results, the Red team has captured 28 of the 38 Corporate Cups since that specific competition started.
