In Memoriam: Gregory Hawkins, PhD

Eastern Washington University is saddened to report that Gregory “Greg” Hawkins passed away on Feb. 11, 2023.

Hawkins joined the faculty at Eastern in 1973, where he served in the Department of Art. He went on to serve as the Dean of the College of Fine Arts before retiring in 2003.

The Washington Art Education Association twice named him Higher Education Teacher of the Year.

As an accomplished artist, Hawkins’ works are in a number of private collections owned by Boeing Co. and the Bank of America, along with permanent collections at several universities.
