Nicholas Swope, lecturer for the Master of Public Health program at EWU, and Jason Sisk, a recent Eastern master’s of public health graduate, traveled this past summer to analyze air-quality data in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, one of the world’s most polluted cities.

An Eastern alumnus who spent 26 years teaching and coaching elementary and middle school students has created a scholarship fund to inspire yet another generation of students as they pursue their dreams at Eastern. The E. Wayne and Nancy Wright Scholarship, named in honor of Wayne Wright and his wife Nancy, a longtime first-grade teacher who passed away in 2019, is now fully endowed and awarded its first scholarship recently.

As of September 2022, EWU graduates’ default rate on direct loans is 1.3%.

The 2025-2026 EWU scholarship application is now open. Apply by February 1, 2025. Scholarships come from various sources including the college you are attending, your program of study, your high school, local, regional and national organizations, employers and more! Many scholarships become available in the fall and winter with deadlines February through May.

The 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available and can be completed any time between now and June 30, 2024, for the 2023-2024 academic year.
