McKenzie Riffner is on a fast track to her dream career in business.
As a first-year student studying business and human resources, Riffner feels she is lucky to have four scholarships that have so far paid for her fall quarter with additional funding for winter and spring. Without those scholarships, Riffner says, she would not have been able to enroll at EWU and, perhaps, might not have have been able to attend college at all.
Riffner chose Eastern for the depth of its learning opportunities, saying “I am especially excited to be learning more about business to prepare myself for my future career.”
At EWU, she has met professors with a breadth of knowledge she never imagined, learning in small-size classes where she has been able to engage with the business curriculum from her very first quarter.
Riffner loves the size of the university, too, saying “It’s not too small, but the classes are personal.” At the same time, EWU is not so big that she feels lost.
The hardworking student plans to pursue more scholarships to support her studies in the years ahead, especially those that will help her participate in internships and other real-world learning opportunities in the community, and is grateful for the opportunity that EWU’s supporters provide in making college possible.
