Eastern Washington University is dedicated to our students, faculty, staff and local community. EWU proactively contributes to a range of initiatives through funding/sponsorship requests. We actively support members of our community who work to improve the cultural, social, environmental, health and educational needs of Washington.

Request Type
The "External Request" button should be used by organizations outside of the EWU campus community (i.e. events, non profits, etc.). If you do not have an ewu.edu email, you are considered an external user.

The "Internal Request" button should be used by our EWU campus community, including faculty, staff, student organizations, etc. If you have an ewu.edu email, you are considered an internal user.

EXTERNAL APPLICATION

Eligibility
For your request to be eligible, your organization or program must:
- Demonstrate an impact aligned with EWU's values: Academic Excellence | Accessibility | Belonging through Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion | Regional Impact and Regional Contribution | Student Success | Sustainability

- Submit your request at least four to six months in advance of your program or event.
- Groups or organizations requesting funding/sponsorship may only submit one request per year.
Because EWU receives more funding/sponsorship requests than we can meet, we objectively screen requests based on a high standard of eligibility and purpose, distributing our limited funds to areas that focus on our mission, strategic initiatives, and vision. If we are unable to meet your request this year, please feel free to reach out to us again in the future.

Please note: EWU does not sponsor individuals, clubs, sports teams, or political or religious activities.

Once we've received your request, we will respond via email within 120 days.
INTERNAL APPLICATION

Purpose
The EWU President’s Office sponsorship procedures shall guide funding requests made to the President’s Office and are not intended to provide procedures/guidance/processes for other MBU’s. Funding/Sponsorship requests and approvals will benefit the university community and the state of Washington and conducted in a manner consistent with the university’s mission, vision, values and 2024-2029 strategic plan. It is the intent of the President's Office that all funding/sponsorship requests will be aligned with these goals and initiatives. As a non-profit public institution, the protection of the reputation, assets, and image of the university is imperative.

Minimum Requirements
For your request to be eligible, your department or program must:
- Clearly summarize how this request is aligned with EWU’s values and goals.
- Be submitted at least 60 days prior to the program or event.
- Only submit one request per year.
- Campus-wide funding requests to the President's Office by colleges, departments, academic and administrative units, and student government and organizations must be submitted by their Dean and/or Vice President for funding consideration.
The President's Chief of Staff (COS) will be responsible for administration of these procedures. COS will discuss funding deviations with the President. The COS, reporting to the President, is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of sponsorships from the President's Office.
Once we've received your request, we will respond via email within 2-3 weeks.
