Yes, approved PCE programs lead to a certificate of completion.
We suggest working with the transfer office at whatever institution that you would like to transfer PCE coursework into prior to enrolling in PCE courses. Please contact the PCE office at pce@ewu.edu with questions about transferring PCE courses to EWU degree programs. Each program has unique characteristics, and not all coursework is transferable.
A learner who is participating in PCE courses and/or programs. These learners are exempt from conventional institutional admissions processes and cannot be a current, matriculated (degree seeking) student at EWU.
The course modality depends on the offering available. PCE courses can be in-person, hybrid, or online. Please refer to the course information listed.
EWU degree seeking students are not able to take credit-bearing courses through PCE while pursuing their degree, however they are invited to register for any non-credit PCE courses.
PCE online courses offered by EWU faculty and staff will be accessible through Canvas which is EWU’s online learning management system (LMS). EWU partners like ed2go, VESi, and Excel Education use their own LMS. For any online PCE course, you will be notified how to access your course materials at the time of registration.
Yes, in most cases PCE can invoice a third party for payment. The payment will need to be received by EWU prior to the start of the course or the student risks being dropped from the course for non-payment.
No, the Washington State waiver is for degree seeking students only.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Refunds are administered based on the date EWU Professional & Continuing Education received your emailed request to drop/withdraw from a course you enrolled in. Students must email pce@ewu.edu and specifically request to be dropped from the course(s) in order for the course enrollment drop to happen.
For-Credit: The refund policy for credit bearing courses and programs aligns with EWU’s refund policy. Please see the academic calendar for important refund dates.
Non-Credit:
Third-Party Vendor: No refund: 0% refund will be offered for online professional development and personal enrichment courses (e.g., VESi, Excel Education, ed2go, etc.).
Contract Services: Refunds for contract service enrollments will be defined in each contract.
PCE courses are not eligible for financial aid. PCE students can only use private funding sources. Scholarships, grants, etc. that run through Title IV, FFA, or state funded financial aid opportunities are not available at this time.
PCE will accept a payment plan that is set up through the EWU Bursar’s office. Please contact their office at sfsofc@ewu.edu. Payment Plan Link: https://inside.ewu.edu/financialservices/payment-plans/
Academic credit bearing courses taken through the PCE unit are added to an EWU student’s official transcript. See instructions on how to access your credit bearing transcripts here.
Students who have paid and completed K-12 teacher professional development clock hour courses offered through the PCE unit will receive their OSPI in-service registration form and Clock Hour transcript. This process typically takes two weeks but may be slightly longer during peak times. Students are responsible for maintaining their own clock hour records.
